And, yes, I do remember how much I criticised and moaned about it when I first joined.
I did the same thing with myspace, so at least I am consistent.
The thing is, I am evangelical, this year, about making this show the best it can be, and very very little of that is motivated by my raging messiah complex.
I've been doing this for a long time, now. It could all end tomorrow. Hell, judging by my Wii Fit calculate BMI, *I* could end tomorrow.
I'd like there to be a legacy of bands who have genuinely been helped courtesy of all the money that has been spent on this show over the years.
I want results.
Because you deserve results.
There's some great music here in Wales. And a lot of it never gets heard by its next door neighbours.
I'm a bit Jamie Oliver about my belief that these next door neighbours and work mates will enjoy -- and ultimately -- support new Welsh music, if they hear it, and if it is 'good'. [We'll sidestep that tricky factor for the moment because, well, it's tricky and my eyelids are down by my ankles, next to my bollocks.]
My rambling notes over the last couple of days outline some of my goals / strategies and thoughts. They also feature some brilliant, erudite and wise contributions from you... opinions and thoughts far superior to my own. Opinions and thoughts that will shape this show.
Anyway, those notes are here and there, scattered all around Facebook like dandruff in a hurricane.
*THIS NOTE* [ah, we get to the point at last!] is to tell you [and thank those of you who already know] about the new Facebook group.
This group will be a central hub of communication for gig info, details on forthcoming shows, discussions on Welsh music & the show, & whatever else you want to bring to the table that suits the remit of Welsh music and Welsh musicians.
I'm going to post up rare and exclusive archive session tracks, some of which haven't been heard in the best part of 15 years.
