Gurning in the Rain

gurning in the rain

Hoofin' bagged out this morning.

Another birthday party for the students next door = Another sleepless night...

The city is being ripped apart by these irresponsible twats. I wouldn't mind - so much - if they were living out some kind of rock 'n' roll fantasy... at least they'd be playing some decent music at 4am.

This lot get in aftershocked out of their heads, and bang on LEANNE fucking RIMES.

It's hell.

The sooner we move; the better. If it gets delayed I'll end up on Deaf Row.

At least that would get me away from RIMES.

Apparently, the BBC won't link to websites that include colourful language. My websites got quite a few prominent links on various BBC pages... Bethan and Huw's, for example. The one day they check the site out is the day I update the site for the first time in 5 months, and one of the first phrases their politically correct eyeballs chance upon is my description of the Demo of the Week this week [everyoneelsebutburt] as a "motherf***in' gem of a tune".

I have changed it; but I do think it's ridiculous.

There are more pressing matters at hand, surely.

Like the students next door ;0)

Apparently, Chester University is one of only four in the country that forces its students to sign some kind of social behaviour contract. I thought that was very magnanimous of the University. It appears that this directive is as much to protect their dusty, academic arses as it is to protect the city's communities. It means that students who sue the university for failing to provide them with a high enough standard of education [thus failing their degree] can get their arses countersued if they have failed to turned up to enough lectures / haven't handed their homework in...

sued... countersued... what kind of society are we turning into?

Can't swear; can't sleep; can't skive; can't play LEANNE effing RIMES without someone wanting to bust your ass.

Soz. The Sopranos is on tonight. I'm highly influenced by what I watch on the telly.

This is meant to be Ava-day; but God, Mohammed, Krishna, Odin, Beelzebub, Zeus and Osiris have ruined it by making it rain. It's the wrong kind of rain for reservoirs, so there won't be any easing up of that facet of my Domesday anxiety.

The rain isn't all bad, though.

All of the other excellent parents at Ava's school turned up in a convoy of vehicles that choked the car park and the road outside.

Ava and I skipped down the road and through the puddles, belting out 'Singing in the Rain' and - in my case - feeling very smug.

I've made up for that moment of spontaneous, old skool parenthood by forcing Ava to sit infront of the television - Droog-like - to watch DVD's while the rain washes away the rest of the afternoon outside.

I saw Richard Starbuck in town earlier. He was Mike Thornton's best friend. Richard looked utterly bereft and pale with shock. I trotted out a bunch of trite bleatings that did nothing to soothe him or comfort him -- but what can you say?

I've got Ava's tea to make.

Thank you to everyone who has posted and contributed to the new forum. I think it could prove to be time consuming, but very useful indeed!
